Royal Family is an improvement to the Cuthbertson varieties, with longer stems, better colours and earlier blooms. Also has better resistance to heat. The delectably fragrant lathyrus or sweet pea was already discovered in Sicily in the 17th century. A very productive climber that flowers for a long time and smells fantastic. Also excellent for cut flowers. Requires well-tilled and fertilized soil. Soak seeds for 6 hours before sowing.
