Painted lady is a very fragrant, two-coloured sweet pea (rose and white). They appeared first in 1737 and were very popular in American gardens in the 19th century. Small flowers with an intense, rich fragrance. The modern varieties have clearly compromised on their fragrance for larger flowers. Requires well-tilled and fertilized soil. Soak seeds for 6 hours before sowing.
