Native of Holland. Is also called “Common Evening Primrose or Evening Star”. Preferably grows in untreated sandy soil and on roadsides along motorways. Withstands salty wind and drought well and so is very suitable for coastal gardens. In the evening the biennial flowers open and bloom during the night. Then they are happily visited by moths.
