The sweet aromatic seeds are used particularly in pickling, for example, gherkins and pearl onions as well as in the preparation of the liqueur “Anisette”. The freshly chopped leaves are used with fi sh, pork, lamb, vegetable dishes and even in salads. Sow in the garden in rows, thin out and after flowering when the fruits are greyish green, harvest, dry and knock the seeds out.
